Six Samurai

This is what is left of my once competitive Six Samurai deck. It got me pretty far, it made A LOT of people scream in utter rage (Which I personally enjoyed <_<), and I was happy.

Until Konami limited Shi En....

I want to try new things with the deck, combinations, ANYTHING since I know there is still some hope in it now that I can't actually laugh at my opponents face as I spammed and summoned 3 Shi Ens in the same turn...yes I used to do that...I am proud of my actions >_>

So yea...that is what I got. This deck is starting to collect dust What should I do? I want you guys opinions...maybe I can get new cards or something ^_^

This deck was rightfully taken down several notches but you are right in saying that there is still SOME hope for the deck. I'll try and give you my best input from what I've seen and played in regional tournaments the last few months.

First off Shien's Smoke Signal is limited to 1. Dunno if its just a typo here or not.

About the actual deck; you seem to be clinging to the OLD samurai builds which ran double edges and focused on getting Shi En out quickly. Since Shi En is no limited you shouldn't really run the deck like that. Which you're down 2 Shi Ens you still have 2 other powerful synchs that accomplish virtually the same thing, Naturia Beast and Naturia Barkion. Sams can make both of those almost as easily as chi en. Kizan + Kagemusha makes you Barkion and Kagemusha and Elder make Beast.

With Smoke signal at 1 the consistency of this deck has plummeted dramatically. You have to incorporate new ways of getting your synchs out faster. you can't double smoke into kageki kagemusha anymore. Competitive builds these days use Shien's Dojo, Asceticism of the Six or both. Asceticism is VERY powerful for getting out exactly what you need. A few examples...

Normal Kagemusha + Asceticism into Elder = Shi En or Nat Beast

Special Elder + Asceticism into Kagemusha + Special Kizan = Instant Trish or Beast or Shi En or Barkion. Even more if you have to Asceticisms.

Those are just a few basic examples and if you're using Dojo you can get even more out. All it takes is 2 counters to get out your Kagemusha.

I would also edit your monster line up entirely. Mizuho and Shinai aren't really that great and aren't really played, especially Shinai. Hand is generally a lot better then both.

Small Enishi and big Enishi are both very good, especially the latter. Using Asceticism you can play around with a few different things for example: Small Enishi can bring out Irou and Kizan can bring out Zanji or Grandmaster if its powered up. Ive even seen some people play a chaos build with BLS using small Enishi and Irou and Zanji.

Great Shogun is very underestimated IMO, he is very powerful and is easily brought out. You defiantly don't need Double Edges, especially with Shi En gone Double Edge has really gone with the times.

My final suggestion is for you to expand your extra deck. I suggest it look something like this.

1 Shi En
1 Librarian

Speaking of, I also happen to have a Six Samurai deck. It's not really competetive or anything, and it's incredibly lacking (mainly due to Yu-Gi-Oh cards somehow not being for sale anymore where I live), but it's gotten me through some times. Here it is!

~ I actually didn't knew Asceticism was THAT good. Were I come from people were just pissed about the recent limitations and just discarded six sams completely...so I don't see many decks of them here. I will get a few ^^

~ I also have two Elders maybe I should add them? Same as Dojo...should I get another one? Hmmm...

~ And yea...the Mizuho/Shinai combo was just used when Smoke Signals and Shi Ens were at 3...I do need to take them out.

~ I knew small Enishi was a good, he used to be in my side deck back when I ran the normal six sams. And about big Enishi...one time I added him in the deck, and for most of my games he just stood there in my hand...a dead draw. But I think since I can't be relying on my grave any more to take out Shi Ens quickly I guess I can give big Enishi a try again ^^ (...may lower the double edges to one...or just don't use them at all)

~ About Great Shogun Shien...I used to have him in my deck (like Enishi) but it ended in the same way (...like Enishi) just glaring at me from my hand....don't ask HOW or WHY... but yea I will also give him a chance.

~ So yep I think the major thing is for me to get me some Asceticisms...and a few of the old members of the six sams. I have a lot more syncros but I just listed the ones I used the most. THANK YOU for your help! I will update the deck soon ^^

Wow...they don't sell cards anymore were you live? That's harsh...yea online is a good way in getting goodies, hope you have luck! I have a few good sites were you can get them cheap ^^
Now I can't really offer awesome suggestions but I will do my best!

~ First I don't see a HUGE problem with the monsters you are running since obviously it's pure six samurais, but you should try and get some Grandmasters and/or Kizans....they are incredibly easy to summon and can open you doors for some nice combos.

~ The spells you need are pretty obvious: 3 Six Samurai United and a Gateway of the Six. It's just ridiculous how much these cards help the deck out.

~ Trap cards are plenty. Double-Edge Swords could bring back one of your dead allies and Musakani Magatama can save your monsters from being killed, it will be good if you can search for those too.

** I can send you the links to the card stores were you might get the cards you need for cheap (it's not ebay <_< ). I was thinking of opening up a trading board in the forum for anyone interested (I believe I have spares of the cards you are missing...need to find out) we will see...
